August 1โ3 | Stockholm, Sweden
Weโre excited to announce the fourth edition of the Nordic Group Organiser Retreat, hosted once again in Stockholm by Effective Altruism Sweden. This retreat brings together leaders of national, university, city, and cause-specific EA groups across the Nordic and Baltic regions for a weekend of strategy, connection, and collaboration.
๐ Dates: August 1โ3, 2025
๐ Venue: EA Sweden Office, Sveavรคgen 76, Stockholm
๐ฏ Who it’s for: Active community organisers of EA or cause-area specific groups from Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, and Iceland
Why apply?
Following a highly-rated 2024 retreat (average 8.9/10 LTR), which helped spark multiple group collaborations, strategic overhauls, and 7+ successful funding applications, this yearโs retreat will build on that momentum with an even stronger focus on impact and group continuity.
- Support your groupโs next phase. Whether youโre scaling, stabilising, or navigating a leadership transition, the retreat will offer hands-on support in drafting Theory of Change, setting goals, and sharing roadmaps.
- Strengthen the regional network. Meet and collaborate with organisers across the Nordics and Baltics. Previous attendees made an average of 7.6 new impactful connections.
- Shape the future of EA in the region. The retreat also plays a role in aligning efforts across national groups โ including planning for EAGxNordics 2026.
What to expect
- Workshops & Sessions: Ranging from fundraising and operations to peer strategy reviews and scaling what works.
- Customised Content: Weโll shape the agenda based on your goals and needsโshared through the application.
- Peer Support: Engage in facilitated conversations with organisers whoโve launched successful crash courses, fellowships, and collaborative events.
Last Year
The most recent edition of the Nordic Group Organiser Retreat marked a significant scale-up. From August 2โ4, 2024, EA Sweden hosted the third edition in Stockholm, convening 37 participants from 23 national, city, university, and field-building groups across 6 countries.
Here are some feedback quotes we have received last year from the organisers:
โThe retreat helped us crystallise our strategy for the year ahead. We came with loose ideas and left with a rough roadmap and clear priorities.โ
โThe retreat gave me energy and accountability. Since then, I’ve co-written a grant, coordinated events with another group, and stayed in touch with three new collaborators.โ
โWe had our first real Theory of Change conversation here. Having instant feedback from experienced organisers made all the difference.โ
โWe adapted another groupโs crash course model right after the retreat and just secured funding to run three versions of it. We wouldnโt have done it otherwise.โ
โThe funding workshop helped me go from overwhelmed to confident. It gave me the clarity I needed to submit a strong application”.
โMeeting other Nordic organisers in person helped me realise Iโm not alone in this. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose.โ
